I offer a confidential, empathic space, either outdoors, online or on the phone, in which you can explore your issues and worries. Supporting you to recognise and build on your own strengths and resources.

Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, confused or low about issues in your life. Counselling can allow you space to explore this, giving you a chance to build a better understanding of yourself and your relationships.

I am experienced in working with various presenting issues such as depression, stress, anxiety, complex trauma, grief and loss, and childhood abuse. I have a particular interest in trauma recovery.

We will work together weekly, online or in-person. I aim to provide a space where we can explore your life, gain insight, develop new strategies to improve your life. I believe in being curious about the discomforts of now, understanding how past experiences shaped your coping strategies, and working together to update these strategies to suit your present circumstances and reduce your anxieties.

I am a Member of Counselling and Psychotherapy in Scotland (COSCA), and am also a member of the UK Association of Transactional Analysis (UKATA) and the International Transactional Analysis Association (ITAA). My practice is informed by their ethical frameworks and professional guidelines.

Taking Therapy Outdoors

For some clients the therapy room can feel limiting or overly formal. Some of us benefit greatly from getting in touch with ourselves outside the consulting room. Walking and talking in the beauty of Ayrshire, hearing the sound of the sea and feeling the breeze can offer a very different therapeutic experience.

As we walk, what you notice and feel will take on a different meaning when your therapy room is nature. It is often easier to feel ‘unstuck’ when talking outside and walking side by side can make talking easier.

All outdoor sessions take place in places that are known to me and I have visited to assess suitability. If you are interested in eco therapy we will get to know each other in a traditional therapy space first and we will discuss suitability for outside work, goals for the therapy and and suitable locations.
